THE NAME

ABAB stands for "Assigned Beast at Birth."

There are a couple layers to the meaning of this title. 1) The acronym originated from AFAB & AMAB::: meaning, "Assigned Female at Birth" & "Assigned Male at Birth." These terms arose from queer communities as a way to acknowledge that the gender assigned by doctors at birth is not necessarily the gender one identifies as. I support the awareness of exploring gender outside of societal roles of "man" and "woman." We are intricate multifaceted beings! 2) Spirit beings in a mammalian body::: the human experience is just a short glimpse of a never ending cycle of energy. In physics & quantum mechanics - Law of Conservation of Energy, also known as the First Law of Thermodynamics - energy cannot be destroyed, it simply moves from one form to another. Fire releases wood into ash, ash merges with the earth and becomes nutrient rich soil, micronutrients are gathered by the roots of the plant, the leaves are consumed by the deer.... Though I was "Assigned Beast at Birth," I see this life as an opportunity to explore our multifaceted, multi-dimensional relationships with the universe.
